T-43 (not to be confused with the medium tank from WWII) was a Soviet project to design more advanced amphibious tanks. It began in 1934 and was focused in equipping amphibious tanks with convertible tracks. There were two versions developed. The T-43-1 was built at Zavod Nr. 37 and T-43-2 at OKMO. The former was an amphibious version and the latter was not. Both versions were competitively tested at NIIBT in Kubinka. However, the results were unsatisfactory and the project was cancelled.
