T-72AG is a Ukrainian upgrade of the Soviet T-72 main battle tank. It was developed by the Kharkov Morozov Design Bureau and the Malyshev Plant.

The T-72AG is a further development of the T-72 Banan upgrade which was revealed in 1995.

The T-72AG is powered by a 1,000hp 6TD-1 two-stroke, 6-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine. The air cleaners can last two to three times longer than that of the original T-72 before they need to be replaced.

The 125mm 2A46M smoothbore gun is fitted with a thermal sleeve and fume extractor and is fed from an automatic loader. The commander's 12.7mm NSVT machine gun can be aimed and fired from within the turret using the TNK-4S sight.

The unstabilized TKN-3 day/image intensification sighting device has been replaced with the more recent PNK-4S day/image intensification system which is stabilized in one plane. The day channel has a magnification of 7.5x with the night channel having a magnification of 5x. The commander is provided with a monitor to which the gunner's thermal image is forwarded.

The gunner's original TPD-K1 8x day sight which is stabilized in one plane has been replaced by the IG46 day sight which is stabilized in two planes with zoom magnification from 2.7 to 12x. The gunner's TPN-3 night sight has been replaced by a French SAGEM SANOET thermal sight. The TPN-4 night sight can fitted as an alternative.

The manual ballistic computer has been replaced by a new 1V528 computer.

Improved ERA has been installed. The side screens are also of advanced armor. Improved fire detection and suppression, radiation protection, and NBC protection system have been fitted.

The T-72AG is a modular upgrade package. Therefore, only specific systems can be selected to meet a customer's requirements.

A 1,200hp 6TD-2 diesel engine is offered as a more powerful option. The T-72AG can also be fitted with the Russian Shtora-1 active protection system.

T-72-120
T-72-120 is a variant of the T-72 with a NATO standard 120mm smoothbore gun. It was developed by the Kharkov Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau and the Malyshev Plant. Five prototypes have been built.

The 120mm gun was developed by the State Scientific and Technical Center for Artillery and Rifle Arms (SSTC ARA). It has a bustle-mounted automatic loader to vent any explosions through blow out panels in the turret roof.

The 1,000hp 6TD-1 and 1,200hp 6TD-2 diesel engines are the two options available to power the T-72-120.

The gunner has an Irtysh day sight and an Alis-Buran night sight. The French SAGEM-15 day/thermal sight can be fitted as an option.

The commander has a TKH-4S1 Agat day/night sight or as an option the French SAGEM VS 580 stabilized day/night sight which is also available fitted with a laser rangefinder.

It is possible to fit the Russian Shtora active protection system and explosive reactive armor over the frontal arc. The T-72-120 can also be fitted with a satellite supported navigation system.
