Tsar Tank (also called Нетопырь, Netopyr' meaning noctule; or Lebedenko Tank) was an Imperial Russian tank. It was designed by N. Lebedenko, and developed by Alexander Mikulin. The tank was completed in the summer of 1915. It weighed about 40 tons and resembled a tricycle. The two main wheels had a diameter of ten meters and each was powered by a 250 hp Sunbeam engine. There were plans for machine-gun positions on the balconies near the wheel outriggers and in the central turrets. Since it was not heavily armored, the tank was vulnerable to artillery fire. Almost 250,000 rubles were spent on the project before it was abandoned in 1923.
