VT-55 (East German designation Panzerugmaschine T-55T) was a Czechoslovak armored recovery vehicle. It has a crane pivoted at the hull rear on the right side and when travelling the telescopic jib is traversed forwards. A cargo-carrying area is provided. The commander has a cupola on the forward right side of the hull.

2,321 vehicles were built between 1967 and 1983. 501 of these were for the export market and designated VT-55KS. The remaining were used by Warsaw Pact states including the Soviet Union.

Those delivered to East German were fitted with a towing device in front. In addition, the crane's lifting capacity was increased to 2 tonnes beginning in 1978. After the reunification of Germany, some of the East German ARVs were delivered to Finland and Sweden.
